Intel Graphics has silently fixed the issue of extremely high power consumption for its Arc A-series GPUs in multi-monitor setups without mentioning it in its driver change-log. The previous 101.4091 drivers typically drew 11 W when idle on a single monitor, but in multi-monitor configurations, this number increased to 40 W. During our personal Arc A770 launch-day assessment, we recorded a 44 W multi-monitor power-draw. With the most recent 101.4146 drivers, which the firm released last week, Intel now claims that the multi-monitor idle power draw has been reduced to “8 to 9 W” for multi-monitor configurations and “7 to 8 W” for single-monitor ones.
