The eleventh generation Tiger Lake-U CPU range from Intel is now being phased out, according to the company’s own Product Change Notification (PCN) system. According to Team Blue’s database, the last shipment of (x86 Willow Cove architecture) processors will be delivered on December 29 with the deadline for final purchases being October 2023. Since their release in 2020, these 11th Gen Core processors (equipped with Iris Xe iGPUs) have been found in laptops, smartphones, and small-form-factor (SFF) computers. In April of this year, Intel began the end-of-life (EOL) process for its more potent models, including all Tiger Lake-B models and some Tiger Lake-H models.

Tiger Lake was a pioneering 10 nm++ SuperFin product; when production yields increased, high-performance gaming laptop CPUs (the aforementioned H and B variants) as well as the fundamental low-power U-series were produced. Along with the 42 Tiger Lake-H35 models that have been discontinued, Intel has also included three 500-series chipsets—the RM590E, HM570E, and QM580E—that were created to support its embedded 11th generation CPU family. There is still a ton of Tiger Lake-based inventory on the market, but Intel will be eager to get rid of it so that space can be made for its 12th and 13th generation product lines.
