Online Release of AMD Ryzen 7 9700F and Ryzen 5 9500F CPUs
The two iGPU-less “Granite Ridge” processors AMD is adding to its AM5 portfolio have been found in merchant feeds, suggesting a possible near-term introduction. The Ryzen 7 9700F and Ryzen 5 9500F were featured on ShopBLT. The 9700F was described as an eight-core, 16-thread processor with a 65-watt TDP, and the 9500F was described as a six-core, 12-thread processor with a 65-watt TDP, costing $218. Both processors were widely anticipated in the late summer window after being alluded to in motherboard BIOS upgrades and benchmarking records. Although AMD has not confirmed dates, the company appears to be nearing an announcement regarding availability based on the September retail listings following an August forecast. These F versions provide the same core counts and thermal envelopes for builders that do not need integrated graphics, but instead rely on a discrete GPU. It may become available for purchase in the upcoming weeks.

Right now, the pricing snapshot presents a disorganized image. Early listings don’t always reflect final street pricing, and distributor and retail feeds occasionally display placeholder values. For comparison, six-core components have been selling for less than $200 in various channels, while the 9700X is now listed around $329. Although the ShopBLT data do not yet provide a consistent image, F versions are typically positioned below their iGPU-equipped siblings because they lack an iGPU. Since the architectural configuration looks the same, it is anticipated that the two F SKUs will perform similarly to their non-F equivalents. We are waiting to see if AMD should add these new SKUs to the AM5 product family. Official AMD product pages and independent reviews should resolve the details soon.
