Launch of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 RDNA3 GPU could be limited, as China loses the reference card privilege.

The new RDNA3 GPU architecture will be widely available starting next week with AMD’s high-end Radeon RX 7900 graphics cards. However, it appears that buyers will have to compete for their purchases because the supply may be limited at launch, potentially raising costs with low stock. Germany will only get 3,000 reference MBA (Made By AMD) Radeon RX 7900 series cards, according to Igor’s Lab research. In contrast, only 7,000 MBA units will be distributed to the remainder of EMEA. Since these figures are lower than anticipated, AIB partners may increase supply once their designs are available for purchase.

As a result of the escalating hostilities with Taiwan, however, mainland China will not receive any MBA units of the new cards. Of course, and as is legal, AMD’s board partners will provide China with their designs; nonetheless, it appears that only AMD is making a remark at this time. The launch is said to be plagued by supply problems in addition to BIOS problems like memory leaks and the COVID-19 epidemic that is hurting production in closed facilities. All of this information should obviously be taken with a grain of salt, and we should hold off on drawing any additional conclusions until the launch is confirmed.
