A leaked company PowerPoint revealed the upper-end SKUs’ specifications, and Intel is expanding its 13th Gen Core “Raptor Lake” desktop processor family with a number of new SKUs, lead by the new flagship Core i9-13900KS. The i9-13900KS has the same 8P+16E (8 performance cores + 16 efficiency cores) configuration as the i9-13900K, starting from the top. Its base frequency is somewhat higher than the i9-13900 K’s, at 3.20 GHz as opposed to 3.00 GHz, however it rises all the way to 6.00 GHz as opposed to 5.80 GHz. Intel increased the processor base power value from 125 W to 150 W while maintaining the maximum turbo power value at 253 W in order to assure greater boost frequency residency.
The specifications of the Core i9-13900 and Core i7-13700 non-K processors are also shown. These processors offer the identical 8P+16E and 8P+8E core configurations as the i9-13900K and i9-13700K, respectively, but lack unlocked multipliers. In contrast to the i9-13900, which operates at 2 GHz with a maximum turbo frequency of 5.60 GHz, the i7-13700 operates at 2.10 GHz base frequency and up to 5.20 GHz boost, as opposed to 3.40 GHz base frequency and 5.40 GHz boost for the i7-13700K. Both “locked” chips’ processor base power, which is just 65 W, and maximum turbo power, which is 219 W, are lower. Both of these chips might come with a cooling system, which is very certainly the Laminar RH1 stock cooler that the manufacturer supplies with the i9-12900 and i9-12700. On January 3, Intel is anticipated to introduce these processors along with a significant number of 13th Gen Core i5 SKUs.
