With the RX 7800 series and RX 7700 series, AMD intends to bridge the gap between its entry-level Radeon RX 7600 and enthusiast-class RX 7900 XT. An announcement or teaser is anticipated at 2023 Gamescom, which is set for August. Up to four new graphics card SKUs could be revealed, with their product debuts scheduled for Q3 and Q4 of 2023. At least three of these SKUs are anticipated to be powered by the “Navi 32” MCM, however there have been recent rumors that AMD may create a new GPU with the GCD of the “Navi 31” on the package of the “Navi 32” with its four MCDs, giving it a greater CU count than the “Navi 32” can provide.
Similar to the “Navi 31” GPU that powers the RX 7900 series, the “Navi 32” GPU is an MCM. A 5 nm GCD (graphics computing die) with 60 RDNA3 compute units, or 3,840 stream processors, 120 AI accelerators, 60 Ray accelerators, 240 TMUs, and perhaps 128 ROPs are said to be included in the alleged design. It has 64 MB of Infinity Cache and a 256-bit wide GDDR6 memory interface thanks to the four 6 nm MCDs. If the RX 7800 XT uses the unnamed new MCM with the “Navi 31″‘s GCD, which has a CU count of between 60 and 72, the RX 7800 could be powered by the “Navi 32” at its maximum capacity, while the RX 7700 XT and RX 7700 could be powered by its scaled-down counterparts.
