In terms of market share, AMD Radeon PC discrete GPUs are far behind NVIDIA GeForce products, but the two firms’ quarterly income data depict a totally different image. AMD pushed $1.644 billion in GPU products across all of its markets for Q4 2022, including AMD Radeon products and the semicustom chips that run the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles. The semicustom processors that power the Nintendo Switch system, GeForce NOW cloud-gaming service, and NVIDIA GeForce products generated $1.831 billion in revenue for NVIDIA during the same time period. AMD is generating 89% more money from client graphics IP than NVIDIA, which helps to explain why AMD is a significant participant in this industry.
