AMD Quietly Unveils the Ryzen 7400F Raphael CPU, a 6-core/12-thread 65 W processor

AMD has just quietly released the Ryzen 5 7400F, a new 6-core/12-thread SKU, even though the Ryzen 5 7500F was the cheapest Raphael AM5 Zen 4 CPU available. The Ryzen 5 7400F showed up on AMD’s product sites without any formal announcement, much like the Ryzen 5 9600 (non-X) that was quietly unveiled at CES 2025. The Ryzen 5 7400F will reportedly be accessible in retail and e-tail as well, in contrast to the Ryzen 5 7500F, which was exclusively offered to OEMs and system integrators (SIs).

As previously stated, the Ryzen 5 7400F is a CPU with four Zen cores that is part of the Raphael architecture and fits into an AM5 socket. It is a CPU with six cores that supports AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). As a result, it has twelve threads and 32 MB of L3 cache. With a maximum boost clock of 4.7 GHz, the base clock is set at 3.7 GHz. At 65 W, the TDP remains unchanged. It is an unlocked CPU, so overclocking is possible, and it supports Precision Boost Overdrive and AMD EXPO Memory Overclocking technology, just like the rest of the range. An AMD Wraith Stealth cooler is included with the packaged version.

AMD is fulfilling its pledge to increase the number of products in its previous generation AM5 lineup, which includes the Ryzen 5 7600X3D 6-core SKU with 3D V-Cache that was previously introduced. AMD has not yet confirmed the Ryzen 5 7400F’s price, but we anticipate it to be around $150 given that the Ryzen 5 7500F, which is only available to OEMs and system integrators, can be purchased for about $163.
