In China, AMD Introduces a Prebuilt Desktop Line with the New Ryzen 7 9800X3D
We discovered that AMD has launched a line of prebuilt desktop computers with their new Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor in China, thanks to a recent tip from VideoCardz. Instead of going through conventional computer manufacturers, AMD is selling the systems through its store on JD.com. The core component of these systems will be the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, which goes on sale on November 7 for $479. AMD collaborated with a number of vendors to supply the components: ASUS provides graphics cards and motherboards, Thermalright offers the 360 mm 360 Frozen Infinity AIO liquid cooling system, and LOONGTR produces computer cases bearing the Ryzen logo. There are seven distinct configurations available from the manufacturer. With the exception of one model that has a Prime X670E-Pro motherboard with 2 TB of storage, all systems use an ASUS TUF Gaming B650M-Plus motherboard with 1 TB of storage and 32 GB of DDR5-6000 memory.
The base model without a graphics card costs $1,000, while the version with AMD’s RX 7900 XTX graphics card costs $2,100. Some variants, such as the RTX 4070 Super and RTX 4070 Ti Super, come with NVIDIA graphics cards rather than AMD’s. The PCs will go on sale on November 7, right before China’s biggest shopping holiday, Singles’ Day, on November 11. Since it is the core of the system, it coincides with the release of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. In the Chinese market, AMD already offers a number of prebuilt systems, including the RX 6750 GRE, which is exclusive to China, and models with other Ryzen processors and graphics cards.
