Radeon RX 7900 GRE DUAL OC and TUF Gaming Graphics Cards from ASUS Introductory
With a broader product launch outside of China, ASUS unveiled its custom-designed Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics cards today. These are the TUF Gaming RX 7900 GRE OC and the RX 7900 GRE DUAL OC. ASUS appears to be employing the same custom-design board designs for the RX 7800 XT and RX 7900 GRE, as seen by the virtually identical 260 W total board power (TBP) and ASIC pin-map of the two cards. The RX 7900 GRE DUAL OC is named by its dimensions: it is 27.9 cm long, 13.39 cm high, and has a triple-slot thickness. Its aluminum fin-stack heatsink has two 100 mm Axial Tech fans. You get dual-BIOS but not RGB lighting or any other notable extras. While the quieter Q-BIOS operates the card at reference speeds with a more muted fan profile, the default P-BIOS runs the card at factory-overclocked 1927 MHz Game clock (vs 1880 MHz standard).
The TUF Gaming RX 7900 GRE is 31.9 cm long, 3 slots thick, and 15 cm tall (with the stub at the tail end adding around 1 cm). It employs the same DirectCU III TUF Gaming cooling solution as the company’s RX 7800 XT TUF Gaming product. As is typical of TUF Gaming cooler designs, the cooler has three 100 mm Axial Tech fans and is effectively vented, revealing more of the heatsink underneath than other cooling options. Small RGB illumination is provided via a diffuser that is located close to the tail-end.
In addition, you have dual-BIOS, with the P-BIOS providing 1972 MHz game clocks and a more noticeable factory overclock than the DUAL OC card. For quieter fan settings, the Q-BIOS once more uses reference clocks. Although ASUS did not disclose the price, we anticipate that the TUF Gaming OC will cost at least $600 and the RX 7900 GRE DUAL OC, which are both factory-overclocked cards, to cost roughly $570.
