China saw the release of the Intel Core i7-14790F “Black Edition” CPU.
According to reports, Intel has released the Core i7-14790F “Black Edition” CPU, which is only available in the Chinese market. MegasizeGPU tweeted the first image of the package, which is distinctly not Team Blue. A few days ago, the Core i7-14700F desktop CPU was released through international retail channels and featured in a list that was shown at CES 2024. However, its very similarly dubbed “Black Edition” seems to be limited to a particular location and was noticeably absent from last week’s trade show. The Core i7-14790F from Intel appears to be slightly superior to the i7-14700F in the Raptor Lake Refresh hierarchy, but the “Black Edition” specs give a different impression.According to Tom’s Hardware: “This CPU has an odd configuration since it has fewer cores and more cache than the Core i7-14700F, contrary to what its SKU would imply to be a higher-spec variant.”
Right now, JD.com is selling the Core i7-14790K for 2909 RMB, which is equivalent to about $410 (USD). For just ten dollars more, you can get a 16-core processor with eight performance cores, twelve efficiency cores, and twenty-eight threads if you choose the Core i7-14700F. Chinese consumers are shown the Core i7-14790F, which is marginally less expensive, along with its intriguing specs: 16 cores in total, consisting of 24 threads, 8 performance cores, and 8 efficiency cores. The clock speeds of the two F-models are identical, however the Black Edition performs marginally faster with an overall Intel Smart Cache of 36 MB (compared to 33 MB); nonetheless, it is designated as having a 24 MB L2 cache instead of a 28 MB one. Thanks to Tom’s Hardware, a comparison table has been put up (see below).
