To support the most recent encoding capabilities of contemporary GPUs, one of the most widely used recording and streaming programs has been updated. Following Intel and NVIDIA, whose newest graphics architecture was the first to disclose enhanced AV1 encoding and decoding, AMD’s RX 7900 series delivered improved AV1 encoding with Navi 3X RDNA3 architecture.
With the support of AMD Radeon series, gamers and streamers may now capture their gameplay using the most effective codec. This does not, however, imply that they can stream via AV1. Unfortunately, streaming providers do not yet support this codec.
The NVIDIA Video and Audio filters have also been improved in OBS Studio 29.0. Now that temporal processing is supported, the quality of the masking should increase. Additionally, OBS now automatically uses the P5 setting for the NVENC encoder, which should enhance performance and compatibility.
