With prices starting at $249, NVIDIA introduces the GeForce RTX 5050 for desktops and laptops.

The GeForce RTX 5050 mid-range gaming GPU for desktops and laptops was formally introduced by NVIDIA today. Notebooks with RTX 5050 discrete GPUs should start at about $999, while desktop GeForce RTX 5050 graphics cards start at $249. Although NVIDIA did not provide a specific date, both are expected to be available in “the second half of July 2025”. The RTX 5050 is intended for medium-thru-high settings in 1080p AAA gaming. Higher performance should be unlocked by the card’s DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, enabling you to turn up the eye pleasure.

The “GB207” silicon, which the desktop GeForce RTX 5050 introduces, maxes out all 20 SM on the chip, allowing for 2,560 CUDA cores, 80 Tensor cores, 20 RT cores, 80 TMUs, and an unknown ROP count. The GPU has a base clock speed of 2.31 GHz and a turbo of 2.57 GHz. In contrast, the memory is 8 GB in capacity and operates over a 128-bit wide memory bus using the older generation GDDR6 memory type. Memory speed was not specified by the vendor. A 130 W TGP is another feature that allows AIC partners to construct cards with 6-pin PCIe power connectors, however we anticipate that the majority of cards will have 8-pin PCIe. The card has the most recent display engine and the most recent set of NVENC and NVDEC video accelerators.
