The first Intel desktop processor generation in five years to deliver an IPC boost, the Intel 11th Gen Core “Rocket Lake” desktop CPUs in the Socket LGA1200 packaging, has been designated EOL (end of life) and is formally retired from the company’s product stack. This information is contained in the most recent product-change notification (PCN), which is dated February 6, 2023, and is in line with Intel’s typical product lifecycle. However, there are still plenty of 11th Gen Core processors available on the market, and Intel will still fully honor product warranties for those. As a result, users of entry-level 11th Gen processors like the i5-11400 still have some upgrade headroom to the 8-core i7-11700/K or the faster i9-11900/K. Almost the whole 11th Gen Core desktop product stack is covered by the PCN.
