Schenker Technologies presents the E21 model generation of the SCHENKER KEY and SCHENKER MEDIA series. The slim and compact 15.6 and 17.3 inch laptops each target different price and performance classes and are characterized by a discreet design. Measuring less than 20 mm in z-height, the SCHENKER KEY 15 and KEY 17 feature an Intel Core i7-10870H and graphics cards up to NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3080 laptop GPU, whereas the SCHENKER MEDIA 15 and MEDIA 17 pack either AMD or Intel 8-core CPUs with an RTX 3060. Alongside the standard Full HD displays, SCHENKER also offers optional WQHD and UHD panels, depending on the model series.
The SCHENKER KEY laptops focus on an ideal balance between high performance and good portability. Thanks to their aluminium chassis, the KEY 15 (357.5 x 238 x 19.8 mm, 1.99 kg) and the KEY 17 (395.5 x 264.95 x 19.9 mm, 2.3 kg) are lightweight and slim, yet robust. They also boast plenty of performance thanks to Intel’s Core i7-10870H with 8 cores, in addition to a mobile NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or 3070 with 16 or 8 GB GDDR6 memory respectively. Both GPUs operate at a TGP of 90 watts, plus a dynamic boost of an additional 15 watts.
The professional approach of the KEY series is illustrated by features such as a choice of factory pre-calibrated “powered by x-rite” display panels, providing excellent color accuracy. The entry-level model features a 144Hz IPS panel with Full HD resolution and great viewing angle stability. For creative professionals requiring higher resolution, SCHENKER offers two model specific UHD display upgrade options. The KEY 15 can be configured with a bright 400 nits 4K OLED display with 100% coverage of both sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces, whereas the KEY 17 can be upgraded to a 4K IPS panel with 100% Adobe RGB color space coverage.
In addition to a maximum 64 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, the laptops come with two RAID-capable M.2 slots for fast PCI Express SSDs and a 73 Wh battery for mobile flexibility. They also stand out in terms of connectivity, despite their slim design – image output to a maximum of three external monitors is provided by DisplayPort enabled Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.1 or Mini DisplayPort 1.4. On top of that, SCHENKER equips the KEY 15 and KEY 17 with three USB-A ports, Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi 6, a fast UHS-II microSD card reader and separate audio jacks for headset and microphone, the latter of which alternatively transmits an S/PDIF signal. A keyboard with per-key RGB LED illumination and a Microsoft Precision compliant touchpad allow for precise inputs. While the KEY 15 features a glass touchpad, the KEY 17 offers a conventional model with an integrated fingerprint reader.
SCHENKER MEDIA
The SCHENKER MEDIA series, on the other hand, is aimed at a lower price range – but still throws plenty of performance and excellent build quality into the mix. The laptops feature a mobile NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 6 GB GDDR6, running at the maximum TGP of 115 watts, plus 15 watts Dynamic Boost 2.0. Schenker Technologies offers both the MEDIA 15 and MEDIA 17 in AMD and Intel platforms. Accordingly, the laptops integrate either a Core i7-10870H or a Ryzen 7 4800H. A later update of the AMD version to the Ryzen 7 5800H is already in planning; the timeline for which is pending improved availability of the CPU.
The standard configuration of both the Intel models and the MEDIA 17 with AMD CPU offers a 144 Hz IPS panel with Full HD resolution; only the SCHENKER MEDIA 15 (AMD) opts for a 240 Hz panel with over 90% sRGB color space coverage. Schenker Technologies offers an optional upgrade to a high resolution WQHD IPS display with 165 Hz and 95% sRGB color space coverage for all four MEDIA laptops, which is particularly recommended for professional users working in the fields of image and video editing. These discreetly elegant laptops are comparatively light in their respective size classes at 359.8 x 245.8 x 19.9 mm and 1.99 kg (MEDIA 15) as well as 395.7 x 260.8 x 30 mm and 2.5 kg (MEDIA 17) and are all powered by a 62 Wh battery. The display lid and top shell of the 15.6 inch model are made of aluminium.
Configuration options allow up to 64 GB DDR4 RAM and two M.2 SSDs with PCI Express connection. At a maximum of 3200 MHz, the memory in the AMD models runs slightly faster than the 2933 MHz in their Intel counterparts. On the other hand, the MEDIA with Core i7-10870H benefits from a graphics card connected via 16 PCIe lanes instead of only 8.
Connectivity is identical across the entire SCHENKER MEDIA family. In addition to 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Wi-Fi 6, there is one USB-C and three USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, separate audio jacks for headset and microphone as well as a card reader in standard SDXC format. An RGB-lit keyboard and a Microsoft Precision touchpad round off the overall package.
