AMD released the Adrenalin 23.7.1 WHQL drivers late on Thursday. Since the previous 23.5.2 drivers, they have not been optimized for any new games, but they do add a number of new Vulkan API extensions and address a few bugs. In specifically, they include eight additional extensions spanning the Khronos and Valve trunks, including Vulkan-based fast video decode for the H.264 and H.265 standards. The RX 7000 series GPUs’ idle power and multi-monitor power draw are also said to be improved by the drivers.
Subpar VR performance or stuttering observed with RX 7000 series GPUs, as well as an application crash for DaVinci Resolve Studio with AV1 video playback, are among the issues resolved with Adrenalin 23.7.1 WHQL. The drivers enhance the RX 7000 series GPUs’ idle- and multi-monitor power-draw for some 4K@144 Hz displays and multi-monitor setups. The display corruption that was seen in Nioh 2 and WWE 2K23 has been addressed.
