Just before the introduction, official Ryzen 9000 series price leaked, thanks to Newegg and BestBuy in the US. X/Twitter user @momomo_us, a serial leaker, was able to take screenshots of the prices before the merchants took them down. This could have been the result of an error, as the Ryzen 9000 series was originally scheduled to debut today but was instead pushed out to August 8th or 14th, depending on the SKU. Although prices could still vary, given that both merchants have listed the same prices for the four SKUs, it is quite likely that the pricing that has leaked is AMD’s MSRP for the four new CPUs.
The good news for those considering purchasing the new CPUs is that AMD has reduced all prices, particularly for the higher-end models, in comparison to the Ryzen 7000-series launch pricing. The MSRP of the Ryzen 5 9600X is expected to be $279, while the Ryzen 7 9700X will cost $359. That is, accordingly, $20 and $40 less than their Ryzen 7000-series equivalents. The Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 9 9950 are expected to retail for $449 and $599, respectively, and are both $100 cheaper than the Ryzen 7000-series equivalents. This may be partly because AMD now realizes it has provide the non-X3D SKUs at a more competitive pricing point and the anticipated X3D parts arriving at a later date.
