Potentially Exclusive to Intel’s 14th-Gen Core-HX Lineup is the 8P+16E Die.
Chinese PC hardware content producer Golden Pig Upgrade has shared additional exclusive information on Intel via their Bilibili page. Their brief post asserts that all previously reported 8P+8E and 6P+0E configurations will be replaced by the Intel 14th Gen Core-HX series, also known as enthusiast grade laptop Raptor Lake Refresh SKUs. With larger L2 cache allocations and more cores, this upgraded HX series could be a nice improvement over comparable 13th Gen Core machines.
Examples include the forthcoming Core i7-14650HX, which has an 8P+8E configuration and two more performance cores than the 13650HX of the current generation (6P+8E). Golden Pig Upgrade predicts that the Core i5-14500HX will be upgraded with a larger pool of L2 cache rather than maintaining the same configuration (6P+8E) as the earlier 13500HX. Previous rumors have suggested that higher-end 14th Gen Core i9 SKUs will be built on the 8P+16E die configuration and may feature faster memory speeds and higher clock rates. While the Raptor Lake Refresh desktop lineup is anticipated to be on sale around mid-October, HX has not yet set a specific launch date for its high-end 14th Gen Core laptop and mobile SKUs.
