Possible Price Leaks for the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 in China
The pricing of NVIDIA’s future graphics cards is, of course, what we’ve all been waiting for, and it may finally have arrived. One screenshot of what might be the MSRP of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 in China was shared on X/Twitter by @wxnod. Though keep in mind that there is a 13 percent sales tax and VAT in China, the MSRP of the RTX 4080 was 9,499 RMB, and the RTX 5080 seems to be not that much higher at 9,999 RMB. Nevertheless, this still amounts to roughly US$1,370.
Now, things won’t be so good with the RTX 5090. The RTX 5090 retails at an outrageous 18,999 RMB, or US$2,600, while the RTX 4090’s MSRP was 12,999 RMB in China. This could make it the most costly consumer graphics card ever produced, as it represents a hefty 46% price increase over the RTX 4090. To be safe, we would advise taking these rates with a heaping of NaCl. The screenshot indicates that the cards should be available sometime in January.
Update 15:34 UTC: In the same X/Twitter discussion, a second image that looks to be from a video was shared. It depicts the anticipated launch months of the less expensive RTX 5000-series GPUs.
