Pictured is the PCB for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Founders Edition, revealing AD103 Silicon.

The rectangular die and fiberglass substrate of the AD103 silicon are similar in size to those of earlier NVIDIA GPUs with 256-bit wide memory interfaces, such the GA104. The smaller AD104 GPU is likely pin-compatible with the AD103 GPU, at least in terms of substrate size, hence the RTX 4080’s 12 GB and 16 GB variants only required a little amount of PCB design R&D. Since the RTX 4080 12 GB is no longer available, the AD104 will power —70 class SKUs with fewer shaders than the RTX 4080 12 GB would have. The RTX 4090’s three DisplayPort 1.4a and one HDMI 2.1a are still used for the display output setup. On November 16, NVIDIA is anticipated to release the GeForce RTX 4080, which will cost USD $1,199. (MSRP).
