One customer purchases an AMD Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT from the listing on Amazon.

We certainly live in wild times. If the leaks and speculations are to be believed, AMD’s RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT GPUs, which are both scheduled to be on sale early next month, offer a respectable value proposition when compared to NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 family. More recently, Amazon momentarily offered a number of RX 9070 and 9070 XT cards from XFX, as observed by @momomo_us. The following are the pricing details:

  • XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC – $649.99
  • XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT – $749.99
  • XFX Quicksilver AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT – $769.99
  • XFX Mercury AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT OC – $819.99
  • XFX Mercury AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Magnetic Air Edition – $849.99

The standard RX 9070 card costs about $650, as was anticipated based on earlier rumors, while the RX 9070 XT costs $100 more. Things quickly took an intriguing turn, though, when a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT was advertised on Amazon CA as well. An inquisitive Redditor was able to buy the device. The triple-slot, triple-fan card cost an outrageous $1,365 CAD, or about $962, which is a ridiculous amount to pay for what the card is supposed to provide. The listing, of course, was not supposed to go up prior to the official release, which was originally scheduled for late January but was then rescheduled for early March. It goes without saying that the Redditor’s order is quite likely to be canceled or possibly dispatched just after the official release.
