The past week has seen an increase in activity on the next-generation Ryzen Threadripper front; last week, we had a reasonably thorough spec leak of the Pro 7995WX and 7975WX processors thanks to Dell Precision Tower workstations being evaluated in SiSoftware’s Sandra suite. YuuKi_AnS has shared a picture of what appears to be an AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7985WX CPU that is SP6 socket-ready, suggesting that pre-release “Zen 4” HEDT gear is already in the world.
According to the advertisement, this sample is for sale on an unnamed internet market and has a 350 W TDP rating. Although the imaged device lacks any exterior “Threadripper” branding, an AMD OPN core code reads: “100-00000454.” The for-sale processor is described by the vendor as showing “minor signs of use” in the form of scuffs and marks, but it is claimed to be fully functioning and doesn’t need any repairs to work. There are no information about cost or location in the screen shot.
