NVIDIA plans to eliminate its stock of GA104 cards by making GeForce RTX 3060 out of them.

The GeForce RTX 3060 “Ampere” graphics card is currently being prepared by NVIDIA using the substantially larger “GA104” silicon. This SKU will contain 12 GB of faster 19 Gbps GDDR6X memory. This results in a staggering 456 GB/s of memory bandwidth across a 192-bit memory bus, exceeding the bandwidth of the original RTX 3070 with 14 Gbps GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit memory bus (448 GB/s). According to what we can determine, the card’s 3,584 CUDA cores, 112 Tensor cores, 28 RT cores, 112 TMUs, and 48 ROPs remain the same. This SKU is created from the GA104 silicon by turning on 28 of the 48 SM, or 58% of the available processing power, and by reducing the memory interface by 25%.
