The placeholder listings for Intel’s upcoming 14th Gen Core (65 W), non-K desktop processor models are starting to appear at retailers. These chips, which are based on the “Raptor Lake Refresh” silicon, provide generational clock speed improvements over the 13th Gen Core series, while keeping a feature set that is almost exactly the same. With a UEFI firmware update, these chips will function on all Socket LGA1700 motherboards based on 600- and 700-series chipsets. Although the entire lineup was already revealed in September through marketing materials (see here), retailer listings for these chips are now being confirmed. The 4P+0E Core i3-14100F and i3-14100 lead the lineup, followed by the Core i5-14400F and i5-14400, the Core i7-14700F and i7-14700, and the i9-14900 and i9-14900F at the front of the pack. Gamers may find these chips, especially the ones with the -F extension, to be reasonably priced.
