As part of its plans to broaden its 14th generation Core “Raptor Lake Refresh” desktop processor portfolio, Intel plans to release mainstream 65 W processor models with integrated cooling in the retail channel. These models will not support overclocking. The plan is for the company to start selling these chips on January 8, 2024. The availability time for Intel’s chips is set for January 8 at 15:00 Pacific, which is also when the media can post their reviews of them. All Socket LGA1700 motherboards with Intel 600-series and 700-series chipsets, including the entry-level H610, should be able to use the chips; however, UEFI firmware updates might be necessary for some of these boards. These chips’ specifications and processor model numbers have been known to us for some time, and placeholder listings for them are beginning to show up on online retailers’ websites. It’s possible that a few days prior to January 8, Intel permits retailers to accept pre-orders.
