Intel Is Still Developing GPUs After Arc Battlemage

Following the impending release of its Arc Battlemage series, Intel is reportedly planning to continue producing discrete desktop GPUs, according to new rumors obtained by Notebookcheck. In contrast to earlier speculations that suggested a potential cancellation if Battlemage underperformed, leaker JayKihn revealed in a remark on X that Intel is actively working on future GPU generations, specifically the Arc Celestial and Arc Druid. According to sources, Intel remains dedicated to its GPU roadmap. NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti are direct competitors of Intel’s budget-friendly Arc Battlemage series, which is headed by the B580 model. Although the performance won’t be revolutionary, graphic cards with Intel Arc Battlemage should cost about $250 (for the 12 GB variant). This will draw in customers on a low budget.

Arc Druid and Arc Celestial may take the same route, as Intel has apparently shelved all plans to release separate laptop Battlemage cards. Despite the lack of clarity surrounding Arc Celestial and Arc Druid, the market for PC graphics cards is encouraged by the confirmation of their development. The arrival of Arc Celestial models in 2025 or early 2026, which may correspond with the introduction of Intel’s Panther Lake CPUs, is what we now know. The new Xe3 graphics architecture is anticipated to be utilized by the GPUs (Intel’s Xe2-HPG architecture will be featured in the Arc B580). Although we still think that Arc Battlemage’s success will be crucial for future Intel GPU development, the final success of these next-generation GPUs is still uncertain given Intel’s most recent difficulties.
