Only the mobile version of Intel’s next Meteor Lake processor family will be released, with a significant rebranding of the Intel Core i naming system. We are interested to see the official performance numbers for the launch scheduled for December 14th. But today is going to be special since we have some preliminary performance data from Geekbench. The Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU has reportedly shown its configuration, early performance, and boost frequency that is over the 5.0 GHz threshold in the GB5 run that BenchLeaks discovered.
The Core Ultra 9 185H is a 16-core CPU with 22 threads that operates at a base frequency of 2.5 GHz, as the GB5 run implies. On the packaging of this SKU, there are two SoC cores, eight E cores, and six P cores. The CPU has a maximum boost speed of 5.1 GHz and is paired with 64 GB of DDR5 memory. The CPU scored 1849 in single-threaded tests and 9832 in multi-threaded testing, which is interesting because it currently falls short of top-end Intel mobile HX SKUs like the i9-13980HX. We believe that this was a preliminary engineering prototype, and the finished product will perform better.
