The introduction of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D on April 6 is just around the corner, and while we already know that the US launch price is set at $449, AMD withheld any information regarding the price in Europe. Luckily, initial listings have begun to surface, showing it selling for €530 in several retailers. Originally, Computerbase projected the cost to be roughly €509, taking into account that the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D are both 13 percent more expensive in Europe than the other two SKUs.
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D, first noticed by Videocardz, has now been seen in Slovenia, where it is offered for €530, which is fairly close to the anticipated cost. It is advertised at €607 in another German listing, which is a little more pricey. This is surprising given that the tax rate in Germany is 19% and the tax rate in Slovenia is 22%. Naturally, given the potential for strong demand for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, some retailers will attempt to include the early adopters tax as well, pushing the price considerably over the MSRP.
The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is an 8-core/16-thread SKU with a single CCD and 3D V-Cache; it differs from the other two SKUs in that it does not use an asymmetric chiplet design. At least in certain of the games AMD chose, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is up to 24% faster than the Intel Core i9-13900K, as AMD previously explained. Also, it performs anywhere from 21 to 30 percent faster than the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D from the prior generation.
We only have AMD’s hand-selected benchmarks and our own simulation of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D’s performance with a single CCD turned off, but fortunately, the launch date of April 6th is quickly approaching.
