Early benchmarks show that the AMD Ryzen 5 9600 almost matches the 9600X.

Recently, AMD released the Ryzen 5 9600, a somewhat less expensive version of the well-liked Ryzen 5 9600X. Even though it was released more than a month ago, the 9600 still seems to be hard to get in physical stores. However, some information regarding the performance of AMD’s six-core Zen 5 budget CPU’s non-X model has been revealed by a recent PassMark benchmark. It should come as no surprise that the Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 5 9600 are closely matched; in the CPU benchmark, the 9600X just beats its non-X cousin by 2.2%.

The two CPUs had a 3.2% difference in single-core scores, with the Ryzen 5 9600 scoring 29,369 and the Ryzen 5 9600X scoring 30,016; the 9600X’s single-core scores were 4581 and 4433 points, respectively. Since the 200 MHz boost clock is the only significant variation between the 9600 and the 9600X, the outcome is hardly shocking. Every other parameter is the same, including base clock speed, cache size, core count, and TDP. Additionally, both CPUs include AMD Precision Boost 2 and may be overclocked. Although the Ryzen 5 9600 isn’t yet available, it looks like a decent choice for people who want to stretch their budget as far as possible because, according to recent sources, it will cost between $250 and 260, which is around $20 less than the Ryzen 5 9600X.
