Core i5-14600K from Intel Geekbench
By getting their hands on some engineering samples, ECSM was able to benchmark Intel’s Core i5-14600K CPU in the middle of September. These samples were put to the test using the Cinebench R23, Cinebench 2024, and CPU-Z suites. Mid-range Raptor Lake Refresh CPU leaks have been tracked by the dependable Benchleaks; late last week, they referred to a fresh entry on Geekbench Browser. We could anticipate more leaky activity over the coming two weeks because PC hardware news outlets have stated that reviewers already have pre-release silicon. Intel’s official embargo will likely be lifted on the day the 14th Gen Core launches (October 17). Through Geekbench 6.2 results, Team Blue’s Core i5-14600K has appeared a few times. —TestKT’s build used an ASUS Z790 TUF PLUS motherboard and 32 GB of DDR5-5200 memory to operate at stock settings and reach a maximum clock speed of 5.3 GHz (K and KF variants), while an unidentified bencher used a system with a Gigabyte Z790 AORUS Master X mainboard and 48 GB DDR5-7600 RAM. The latter was now overclocking; according to Geekbench 6.2 statistics, the Core i5-14600K’s clock speeds reached 5.7 GHz.
TestKT’s stock 14600K scored 2819 in single-threaded performance and 16666 in multi-threaded performance. On the same ASUS platform, their 14600KF received 2779 and 16707 scores, respectively. On a 14600K overclocked processor, the unidentified Gigabyte system user scored 2861 (SC) and 17974 (MC). As stated by VideoCardz, “this represents a minor increase in single-core performance and approximately an 8% improvement in multi-threaded performance.” In order to make a comparison, they used a previously leaked higher-end CPU: “Since the latter score is using the same (Gigabyte) system as in the Core i7-14700KF Geekbench leak, we can now conclude that Core i7 CPU will be at least 8% and 18% faster than the Core i5 SKU.” Of course, that assumes that both results were obtained with OC settings. If these values were generated on completed silicon, we won’t know for sure until official reviews are published.
