As per the most recent PassMark benchmarks, the CPU with the highest single-thread performance is the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K. The next Arrow Lake-S flagship SKU, Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, scored 5,268 points in single-core results, earning the title of benchmark king. PassMark’s official account on X revealed single-threaded performance statistic. This is excellent news for gamers, as games largely worry about single-core speed. With 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores, this CPU has a boost frequency of 5.7 GHz for P-cores and 4.6 GHz for E-cores. The new SKU outperformed the previous generation Intel Core i9-14900K processor by 11% on the single-core tests.
The multithreaded cases, however, are operating more slowly. The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K scored 46,872 points on the PassMark multithreaded results, around 22% less than the highest SKU from the previous generation. Although some may find this disappointing, it is somewhat expected as Arrow Lake discontinues the multithreaded architectures in Intel CPU series. All CPUs from now on will be a mix of P and E-Core, optimized for performance or efficiency according on the application. It is also conceivable that the CPU utilized inn PassMark’s testing was an engineering sample, therefore until formal launch, we have no clear information about its conclusive performance comparison.
