AMD Ryzen 9 9950X Prices Drop to $434, a Third Below MSRP
The price of the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-core/32-thread CPU, which is powered by the “Zen 5” microarchitecture, was lowered to $434 on Amazon Prime. This indicates a 33% decrease from the $649 launch MSRP for the chip. The chip is about $100 less expensive than the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K at this price. According to our tests, the 9950X matches the 285K in 4K Ultra HD gaming and outperforms it in productivity workloads. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D, which retails for about $700 and has gaming performance second only to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D while maintaining productivity performance equivalent to the 9950X, replaced the AMD flagship desktop CPU, the 9950X.

A 16-core/32-thread processor, the Ryzen 9 9950X has two 8-core CCDs and 32 MB of on-die L3 cache. The processor has a TDP of 170 W and operates at a base frequency of 4.30 GHz with a maximum boost frequency of 5.70 GHz.
