AMD refutes rumors that the Radeon RX 9070 XT will start at $899 USD.
AMD officials are stepping in when reports abound about the next-generation AMD Radeon RX 9000 family of GPUs, led by the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070. Given their stated performance levels, AMD’s original price plan for the new cards raised concerns, according to the Bulgarian retailer’s disclosure. According to reports, the RX 9070 XT was priced at approximately $899, which was the same as the RX 7900 XT. It was said that the basic RX 9070 cost $749. Frank Azor of AMD spoke to social media platform X to clarify the situation, saying, “An $899 USD starting price point was never part of the plan, but we aren’t going to comment on all the price rumors.”
According to earlier rumors, AMD has shipped its initial batch of RDNA 4 graphics cards to a number of partners and merchants across the world. However, AMD has reportedly set a March release date for the new GPUs, thus these businesses are currently unable to sell them. When a Bulgarian shop shared details on AMD’s initial launch plan for the RX 9000 series, this information garnered even more legitimacy. During CES, PowerColor launched three RX 9070 XT variants, including the Red Devil model, which the merchant showcased. Even while a number of AMD board partners have finished designing the RX 9070 XT, they have not yet revealed official specs or retail costs. We don’t know anything about the price approach till March.
