AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D Price Drops to $465, a Record Low
The Ryzen 9 7950X3D, AMD’s flagship desktop CPU for the current generation, saw a price decrease earlier this week to a record-low $464.99 on Amazon and Newegg. In our tests, the 16-core/32-thread Socket AM5 processor with 3D V-cache technology performed about the same in terms of gaming performance as the Intel Core i9-14900K. Because of its 16-core computing power, it also provides a far higher productivity and content creation performance than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The revised price of $465 is precisely two-thirds of the $700 launch price of the processor. The purpose of the chip was to defeat the Core i9-13900K “Raptor Lake.” The upcoming release of the Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” processors, which are built on the more recent “Zen 5” microarchitecture, is what caused the price reductions.
