Prior to export restrictions, NVIDIA is rushing GeForce RTX 4090 orders to China.
It has been reported that NVIDIA is shipping GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs to China quickly in preparation for anticipated export controls. As we previously reported, NVIDIA may be canceling orders worth $5 billion USD. Export licenses will be necessary from the US government in order to ship RTX 4090s to China, thereby limiting sales to that nation. It is reported that NVIDIA’s add-in-board (AIB) partners are operating at maximum capacity in order to manufacture as many RTX 4090 products for the Chinese market prior to the possible restriction on November 17. Although the ultimate implementation of the export restrictions is still uncertain, NVIDIA and its partners have accelerated their production in anticipation of such measures.
Zed Wang, a renowned hardware leaker with historically accurate insights into NVIDIA’s operations, is the source of the tweet that provides this information. He claims that “NVIDIA has been shipping tons of AD102 for AICs this week to manufacture as much RTX 4090 as possible before the original restriction date of RTX 4090 in China.” Whether or not the restriction materializes is still up in the air. However, despite this, all AICs are producing RTX 4090 at maximum capacity.”
