When used with AMD Radeon RX 400 and RX 500 “Polaris” GPUs, Forspoken is ineffective.

Users on Reddit claim that AMD Radeon RX 400 series and RX 500 series graphics cards based on the “Polaris” graphics architecture are inexplicably unable to run “Forspoken.” The architecture cannot support all of the DirectX 12 feature-level 12 1 API requirements for the game. It’s interesting to note that the game supports FL 12 1 and can be run on NVIDIA’s “Maxwell” graphics architecture, which debuted about a year before AMD’s “Polaris.” The GeForce GTX 970 and GTX 960 are well-known GPUs from the “Maxwell” series. Even worse, AMD has yet to issue an upgrade to their Adrenalin graphics drivers for the “Forspoken” optimized RX Vega, RX 5000, and RX 6000 series. Only the RX 7000 series RDNA3 graphics cards are supported by its most recent 23.1.2 beta drivers, which include these enhancements. The great majority of AMD discrete GPUs haven’t had a driver update in more than 50 days.
